Our client is a leading financial institution in Hong Kong.
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled GenAI/ Machine Learning Engineer to join our small, dynamic project team. The successful candidate will design, develop, and deploy production-quality ML solutions using large-scale banking datasets and deliver data-driven insights through analytics and dashboarding.
The position we offer:
- As an experienced ML Engineer, you will work under the guidance of experienced data scientists. Your responsibilities will include streamlining the process of taking machine learning models to production, maintaining and monitoring them, and ensuring seamless collaboration between data scientists, data engineers, application developers, and IT teams. Additionally, you will be implementing and managing data pipelines and ensuring efficient data flow.
- You will contribute significantly to the efficiency and reliability of ML applications and data pipelines. Success in this role will be demonstrated by delivering critical scripts to ensure the ML and data pipelines lifecycle is scalable and fully functional.
- You will be integrating systems with the models/pipelines, address security and compliance considerations, and optimise performance for real‑world banking supervisory use cases.
- Your background should encompass a strong understanding of data pipelines to model production. Leveraging Agile methodologies, continuous integration, and automated releases. Proficiency in model governance, serving and monitoring in Python, along with experience in automation data pipeline tools would be an advantage.
Key responsibilities include:
- Understand and analyse business needs, collect requirements from business users, and translating them into functional solutions.
- Participate in functional, technical and design discussion with stakeholders to ensure best practices during implementation
- Collaborate with IT teams to productionise the solution from development environment
- Manage the data lifecycle and data pipelines, ensuring seamless data flow including ETL processes from source to applications or end-users.
- Conduct feasibility studies, proof-of-concepts to recommend appropriate ML/GenAI approaches and platforms.
- Design, implement, and maintain end-to-end ML solutions, including data ingestion/ETL, feature engineering, model training, validation, deployment, monitoring, and lifecycle management.
- Productionise ML models and GenAI components: containerise services, implement model serving (APIs), CI/CD pipelines, model versioning, automated testing, and scalable deployment patterns.
- Implement monitoring and observability for models in production: drift detection, performance alerts, logging, and automated retraining triggers.
- Produce clear technical documentation (architecture, APIs, runbooks) and transfer knowledge to operations and business teams; support troubleshooting and incident response.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
- At least 3 years of hands-on experience designing, building, and deploying data pipelines, ML models and data-driven applications; experience in financial services or regulated industries is highly desirable.
- Strong proficiency in Python and ML/data libraries (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn, pandas).
- Experience in data warehouse and ETL tool in Python, SQL, data orchestrator e.g. Airflow, ML Models and BI tool e.g. Tableau is preferred.
- Experience with model serving frameworks such as MLflow and Ray Serve is a plus.
- Experience with GenAI solutions involving RAG or agentic workflows, is a plus.
- Knowledge of model development and deployment, ETL processes and data visualisation
- Data driven thinking capabilities and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment
