About the Role
ROLE The Greater China Client Team in Hong Kong has an opening for a Relationship Analyst ("RA"). The successful candidate will be an integral member of our China institutional team and will be primarily responsible for supporting growth and strengthening relationships with our institutional clients.
Commanding relevant industry experience, strong communications, coordination and problem-solving skills, the RA will work closely with the business team on a portfolio of institutional relationships. The RA will assist and partner in the core aspects of business development, relationship management, and client servicing, including:
- Prospecting - supporting territory leaders with live opportunities, RFPs qualifying and coordinating, pitch material coordination, follow ups.
- Client/prospect meeting life cycle - coordination and preparation for meetings - materials, briefing notes, meeting notes, follow ups.
- Servicing - respond to client/prospects inquiries on a wide range of topics (product/strategy, portfolio, market/investment queries, servicing, etc.), often under significant time pressure.
- Work with relationship managers on complex client deliverables. Providing support in bespoke client requests and non-standard processes.
- Build their internal network relationships and manage internal stakeholders for effective collaboration.
- Incorporating product knowledge with firm awareness, the RA will be required to effectively communicate client expectations with a variety of internal constituents including portfolio services, legal and compliance, portfolio management, product management, investment operations, trading, and other functions.
Qualifications The successful candidate will have a passion for learning about the global capital markets. In-depth knowledge of equity, fixed income, and/or multi-asset investment products is strongly preferred. Interest in the business of investment management, a desire to work in a team-based and collaborative environment, and an analytical/ problem-solving orientation are required. The successful candidate should be organized and pay strong attention to details. He/she will have strong multi-tasking and time management skills; is able to deliver at a high capacity to improve productivity and efficiency; is a self-starter and able to work independently.
Candidates should possess a demonstrable track record of achievement, strong judgment and prioritization, strong work ethic, and the ability to leverage AI tools effectively. Strong presentation skills and client-facing experience are highly preferred.
Other required qualifications include: - 5+ years of relevant experience in analytical roles within the investment industry
- Direct buy-side experience supporting institutional client relationships in Greater China region preferred
- Strong academic credentials including a bachelor's degree with preference given to candidates who have undertaken postgraduate work or are progressing towards a CFA and/or CAIA
- Demonstrate interest in applying AI and digital tools to enhance productivity, efficiency, and overall client and firm outcomes
- Demonstrate excellent communication skills, both oral and written
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment that requires exceptional teamwork.
- Proficiency in Bloomberg and Microsoft Office, specifically in Word, PowerPoint and Excel
- Proficient in written and spoken English and Chinese Mandarin. Additional language skills would be a distinct advantage.
