Our Client is an International Banking Group currently expanding in Asia with a mid-size overseas branch in Hong Kong to provide specialized banking solutions for corporate and institutional clients. To ensure sustainable growth and regulatory integrity, the bank is seeking a dynamic FCC lead / specialist to upgrade their AML Platform / System and further develop their FCC capability.

The key responsibilities for this position are as follows:

  • Leading the development and implementation of FCC frameworks, platform / systems, policies and infrastructure to upgrade the onboarding controls, transaction surveillance and sanctions screening capabilities.
  • Assist in building a risk‑based compliance framework covering customer due diligence, transaction monitoring, risk assessments and KYC / AML standards aligned to corporate and institutional banking activities.
  • Establish regulatory reporting and engagement processes, including suspicious activity reporting, statutory filings and formal interaction channels with Hong Kong regulators and intelligence bodies.
  • Design, upgrade and embed the overall AML/CFT operating model, covering governance, escalation, staff training and ongoing compliance initiatives.
  • Act as a key advisor to the business, enabling business expansion through innovative financial crime risk management and solutions while ensuring adherence to the regulatory landscape.
  • Act as the key point of contact for suspicious transaction reporting and liaise with authorities in relation to money laundering prevention and compliance.
  • Review, implement and test KYC procedures and other applicable policies.
  • Advise the business of changes in local regulatory requirements and Group AML policies.
  • Identify, investigate and report suspicious transactions and escalate material risks to senior management.

Successful applicants will have the following skills and experience:

  • A university degree or equivalent professional qualification, CAMS, CPA, legal
  • Minimum 10+ years relevant experience in AML / Financial Crime Compliance gained from Commercial Banking, Corporate Banking, Institutional Banking, Payments Companies
  • Proven experience in managing or implementing AML / FCC technologies, systems and platform
  • Solid and up-to-date knowledge of AML / FCC regulations in Hong Kong
  • Familiarity with Corporate Banking business and products, Corporate Lending, Trade Finance, Cash Management and Payments
  • Demonstrated success in designing, launching, revamping compliance frameworks and functions in a lean team
  • Project leadership experience and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Proactive mindset with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build trusted relationships across functions
  • Excellent communication skills with fluency in English with fluency in Cantonese and / or Mandarin
