About the team

The Markets Project Lead is responsible for providing domain-level governance, delivery oversight, and cross-functional coordination across the Markets functional landscape (Front Office, Back Office, Risk, Finance and IT) within the country. This role involves driving alignment across these streams, actively managing interdependencies to ensure delivery remains cohesive and on track with program objectives. It also requires providing programme governance support through structured status reporting, progress transparency, forward-looking risk insights to the Country Program Manager, and Release Delivery Lead enabling effective oversight and informed decision-making.

Role requirements

1) End-to-end Responsibility

  • Provide end-to-end delivery oversight of the Markets domain across Front Office, Back Office, Risk, and Finance, IT ensuring alignment with the country delivery roadmap and regional milestones
  • Maintain the Markets domain schedule alignment with release timelines

2) Cross Functional Coordination

  • Drive alignment across Markets domain to ensure cohesive planning and execution
  • Identify, track, and manage interdependencies, sequencing, and cross-functional impacts within Markets domain
  • Facilitate resolution of delivery conflicts, overlaps, or gaps across Markets domain
  • Ensure clarity of roles, responsibilities, and handoffs across the Markets delivery lifecycle

3) Risk, Issue & Dependency Management

  • Consolidate Markets-related risks and issues at country level and ensure proactive mitigation planning
  • Ensure early identification of cross-functional impacts and readiness risks
  • Lead structured escalation of material delivery concerns through governance channels

4) Reporting & Governance Support

  • Support the Country Program Manager in the bi-monthly Country Program Steering Committee (PSC), representing Markets delivery status, key risks, and dependency impacts as required
  • Provide structured Markets reporting, progress transparency, and forward-looking risk insights
  • Coordinate with country vendors supporting Markets scope to ensure alignment on timelines, issue resolution, and readiness expectations, if required

Essential Functions

  • Own end-to-end delivery of their project
  • Define scope, plan, milestones, and deliverables
  • Maintain the project schedule aligned to release timelines
  • Coordinate and lead the cross-functional team
  • They manage ~10–50+ people from:
    • Business analysts
    • Architects Developers
    • Testers
    • Data, integration
  • They ensure everyone is aligned to a single plan
  • Uphold governance & standards

Competencies

Work experience, education and skills

  • Bachelors degree or above in Information Technology, Computer Science, or other related disciplines
  • Minimum 10 years of professional experience, with proven influence and track record in large-scale banking transformations, particularly involving Murex systems to support end-to-end trade processing, risk analytics, and regulatory compliance across multiple asset classes
  • In-depth understanding of local nuances and a strong willingness to be dedicated to a country for active on-site participation
  • Knowledge of Markets processes across Front Office, Back Office, Risk, Finance would be an advantage
  • Fluent in Cantonese, Mandarin, and English
