We are working closely with a leading enterprise insurance institution to hire their next Senior Enterprise Architect. This role will play a critical part in transforming the technology landscape-modernising legacy platforms, uplifting customer and contact centre capabilities, and defining the future-state architecture aligned with business growth and regulatory expectations.
The successful candidate will operate at an enterprise level, providing architectural leadership across large-scale transformation initiatives, guiding engineering teams, and partnering closely with senior business stakeholders to deliver scalable, secure, and future-ready insurance solutions.
Responsibilities of the Role:
- Define and drive the enterprise architecture strategy across the Insurance domain, including policy administration, customer platforms, digital experience, and supporting services
- Set target-state architectures and multi-year technology roadmaps aligned with business priorities and group standards
- Lead architectural reviews, design governance, and solution assurance across major initiatives
- Drive modernisation of legacy insurance platforms, including system retrofitting and replacement programmes
- Design secure, resilient, and scalable solutions leveraging modern technology stacks, cloud-native services, and integration patterns
- Provide detailed design guidance to engineering teams, ensuring solutions meet functional and non-functional requirements
- Be accountable for solutions end-to-end-from ideation and design through implementation and post-go-live sustainability
- Partner closely with senior business stakeholders to translate insurance product, operations, and customer needs into effective technology solutions
- Facilitate alignment across diverse stakeholders, including product owners, business analysts, engineers, testing teams, and external vendors
- Bring current insurance industry best practices, including InsurTech trends and the application of AI across insurance use cases
Required Skills for the Role:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or a related discipline
- Extensive experience as an Enterprise Architect or Senior Solution Architect within the Insurance domain
- Proven track record delivering large-scale modernisation and transformation programmes in complex enterprise environments
- Strong understanding of modern engineering practices, including:
- Microservices and API-based architecture
- Containers and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
- CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, and automated SDLC tooling
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex technical concepts to senior business leaders
