Head of Investment Counselling

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Investment Counsellor (IC) Team Lead to spearhead the establishment and ongoing development of our Investment Consulting function within the Wealth Management Department. This is a newly created leadership role at the intersection of investment research, client advisory, and technology-driven innovation. The successful candidate will build and lead a team of analysts, design a modern advisory framework leveraging AI and fintech tools, and work closely with product team and sales teams to deliver high-quality, tailored investment insights to our high-net-worth and institutional client base.

Key Responsibilities

1. Lead, mentor, and manage the Investment Counsellor team, overseeing all sales coverage and ensuring consistent, high-quality investment advisory support across the department.
2. Provide cross-asset class expertise (equities, fixed income, FX, derivatives, structured products, funds) to support HNW and UHNW clients with customized investment solutions.
3. Oversee the production of cross-asset investment research and market views across Greater China and global markets.
4. Develop and articulate well-reasoned market views, translating macroeconomic and cross-market analysis into actionable investment strategies.
5. Partner with relationship managers and sales teams to enhance client trust and engagement through high-quality investment dialogue and timely market commentary.
6. Champion the integration of AI tools, fintech platforms, and data analytics to enhance research quality, streamline operational workflows, and improve the scalability of investment counsel.

Qualifications

1. Minimum 5 years of experience in investment research, wealth management advisory, or a related front-office role within a securities firm, private bank, or asset management company.
2. Proven track record of managing a team of investment professionals.
3. Demonstrated experience in serving high-net-worth or ultra-high-net-worth clients with tailored investment solutions. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build trust with clients, sales teams, and senior management.
4. Deep understanding of multi-asset investment markets (equities, fixed income, FX, derivatives, structured products, funds) across Greater China and global markets.
5. Strong passion for investing with well-developed market views and the ability to communicate them clearly.
6. Enthusiasm for leveraging AI tools and technology to enhance research quality and operational efficiency.
7. Excellent communication skills in English, Mandarin, and Cantonese (both written and verbal).
