bbq on beach
Is there explict rule against someone setting up a portable gas bbq on Hong Kong beaches?
The reason I am asking is I read in SCMP that the lands department is shutting down BBQ operators in Shek O under the land use ordiance. These BBQ operators are right on the beach, next to government sanctioned BBQ sites, and have been in operation for decades. The land use ordinance prohibits any permanent structures to be built on government land, yet there are long running businesses, two story houses constructed illegally all over HK. I figure me bringing my propane bbq and pick the best spot on the sand to do an afternoon picnic would not attract any unwanted government attention.
Any thoughts?
