Hello,

I will leave HK to go back to France. I have two cats, born in hk and want to bring them.

Can you help me with the procedure, please?

Where can I buy the special box for plane?

Thanks

I would suggest you contact those companies that specialise in exporting pets overseas. They will often provide the crate for you, and they can advise you what procedures you need to follow to take cats to a certain country.

For example, for strict countries like Australia and New Zealand, you need to get checks and injections for your cats in the months BEFORE you leave HK - this will reduce the length of time they need to spend in quarantine when they arrive.

Don't know anything about the requirements for France.

Hi,

I got a quote from them, but it's quite expensive.

I have found information on the agriculture and fishery website. It's quite eays and really cheaper than the quote I have.

The single thing I am still looking for is the name of an approved veterinary surgeon. Do you know one in Sai Kung or NT?

You just need this:

1- The animal is identified by a microchip ISO (different than the standard one in HK)

2- The animal is accompanied by equivalent health documentation which requires endorsement from AFCD

3- The animal has a valid anti-rabies vaccination status

4- The animal has been examined 24 hours by an approved veterinary surgeon before travelling and found to be in good heath and able to withstand travel to the planned destination.

I found also the website from french custom: http://www.douane.gouv.fr/page.asp?id=46

AFCD:
