Puppy Adoption

Hi,

I am interested in adopting a dog from a shelter. I have looked at the HK SPCA and HK Dog Rescue websites and all their dogs are above 3 months. I know you can bond with older dogs too, but I want a companion for its whole life, not the rest of its life. If anyone is giving away a puppy, or can suggest a puppy rescue it would be most appreciated.

There so many puppies available it's tragic. If you are looking for a puppy under 3 months, in addition to HKDR, there's also the Lifelong Animal Protection Charity with animals (and puppies) of all shapes, sizes and ages (www.lap.org.hk), HK Rescue Puppies (contact 9021-2472 - they have several young puppies looking for homes here on this site under the 'Pets' classified section), as well as Sai Kung Stray Friends, which is always out in front of the Starbucks in Sai Kung on Saturdays with the pups and older dogs they have saved that are looking for homes. This isn't a comprehensive list - there is a huge problem with abandoned, unwanted and stray pets here and many charities trying to make a difference. You could try one of the four we have suggested first though.
