Hi there, I am going to move to the UK in summer with my 5 year old husky(30kg).

Would someone please provide some information on how do I take my dog with me on the plane and is it better to pay for pet travel agency, and how much does it cost?

Many thanks

You need to prepare him for entry into the UK with a course of Rabies vaccinations if he hasn't already had them, which can take up to 6 months, so go to your vet now to start a course, otherwise he will have to go in quarantine.

It is better to contact a pet moving company, ask Cara who contributes greatly to this forum, she knows a lot about dogs. I would advise, get a few quotes, and find out about the companies, ie how the pets are looked after etc. Your pet will travel in the luggage hold of the plane in a special container, usually warm, and dark so he will sleep throughout the journey. My dog and cat travelled from UK to Hk and were perfectly fine when they arrived here, non the worse for the long journey.

A friend has just sent a cat back to the UK and used Dr. Gerry at petexportvet. She was thrilled with the service and excellent price www.petexportvet.com
