Adopting a dog advice

I need some advice. I love dogs and I am seriously considering adopting. I have had dogs in the past and I really miss having a fourlegged friend. But I have a very hectic job with a lot of travel. I was thinking maybe having a dog sitter for when I am away. Anyone with a similar situation has some advice for me? How do you cope with travel and your pet? thanks a lot

Having a very hectic job with lots of travel isn't a lifestyle fit for a dog. Imagine the cost of kennelling the dog for a start if you chose that option? Dogs need routine so if you're there one minute and gone the next at random times that will be confusing and disruptive for a dog. If you hired a live-in helper the dog will probably bond with her and not you, so what's the point of having a dog then? Please don't get a dog until your lifestyle suits.
