We are about to adopt a dog and want to get everything ready for it, there is so much different food out there!?


Which is the best to choose?

Hi HKDEKA, From my experience it would be best to go with all natural holistic dog food brands such as Solid Gold, Canidae, Blue Buffalo or Wellness. They're made from all natural high quality ingredients and don't contain any chemical preservatives which may be harmful to your dog in the long run. I myself have had a very good experience with Solid Gold. My dog's health and skin have been flourishing from their dog food. You can always buy the smaller packages first and try and see whether your dog has a favorable response to it health wise and also taste wise.

I will try to find those and start with that. Where do I go for Solid Gold or Blue Buffalo? 360 or citysuper? Or can I order online?

A friend of mine feeds his dog raw meat, that must just be a trend, I can't imagine that being good for them!


Just looked at Solid Gold online, did you use dry food only or any supplements?

It depends where you live, I just bought Solid Gold in the pet store nearby my place. It would be pretty easy to find I think... I was on a tight budget so I only used dry food and no supplements.. You're welcome.. :)

I feed my dog Science Diet dry food and I've had several comments lately from people, including vets who say how healthy he looks. He's 14.
