Temporary home for Pets before travel

I am looking for a temporary home for my pets for 5 months before they are able to travel to Australia. We are being moved at very late notice and I am unable to fly my pets at the same time. THey are now waiting to have their blood tests in 3 weeks and once thats done they will need to wait in HK until December. If anyone knows of people that look after pets temporarily that would be amazing. I have two adorable pekes and a super cuddly cat. THey are all very sweet animals and the dogs are very easy to care for, just LOTS of love. One is old and the other has a weak hip so neither of them take a lot of walking. THey are house trained, however squash does need a pee mat which is a pro at using. THe cat can go separately to the dogs. Any advice for my situation or ideas of people that can help would be most appreciated. THanks!

Hi Sarah,

5 months is a long time and maybe tricky with a few pets to find a home.

Have you considered somewhere like Van Dego kennels, Ferndales, Pets World, dbdogdayz.com etc?

I would have thought that at short notice like this you will be needing to put them in paid kennels and there are some excellent facilities in HK which I can recommend.

I can recommend Anna Macloughlin who lives on Lantau and cares for dogs in her home - she has a lovely garden & walks the dogs on the beach. She is a real dog lover and has a wealth of experience with pets, running a veterinary clinic before - her number is 91938457

Thank you everyone for your helpful replies - I shall definitely be in touch with the recommended people. Unfortunately my oldest dog definitely can't travel and the little one may not be able to take the stress of the journey to Sydney (via Aukland) plus the quarantine. I am unfortunately having to look at rehoming them which is breaking my heart. I have tried everything, travel by boat, sending them to the UK. THere are many embargoes on snub nosed dogs and it makes overseas travel very difficult.

Hi, I am also looking for someone to take care of my dog on jul11-29 for 19 days while I am out of town. He is a 7 y/o Pomeranian cross (7kg), well behaved and healthy. I can drive my dog to your place anywhere on HK island. If anyone can help, pls send me an email at buildclock@gmail.com

Thanks!
