We have recently moved to HK 3 weeks ago and have every intention to bring our small, very well behaved mini-dachshund over. We are fully aware of the issues over the size of the apartments, summer heat, transportation costs etc however what we have found since arriving is that there are virtually no areas - small or large - for a dog to have even have a sniff of any grass. I appreciate that there are walks on the peak / islands however what i'm desperately trying to find out is whether there are any dog permitting grassy parks / verges (of any size!) near a residential neighbourhood where they are allowed? Any help would be much appreciated as would any recommendations of friendly dog walkers / dog sitters. Thanks in advance.

Hi,
We fully understand your frustration. We have moved back to Hong Kong from Canada a few months ago as well with our dog, and find that it takes a bit of time to adjust. Not sure what area you live in, but we found a great off leash dog park (with grass and fenced!!!) near Central/Sheung, Wan, just around the Macau ferry terminal, it is very nice and also has a sea view. We really enjoy hanging out there in the evening with fellow dog owners and just enjoying the sea breeze. I believe it is officially called Central and Western District Promenade Sheung Wan Section.
I have also sent you a private message, as we actually just started a pet sitting company, bringing lots of professional pet care experience. We are accredited, certified, and members of various pet sitting organizations. Happy to chat more.
Thanks!

Hi there. Good news! There is a very large, dog friendly grass park at Cyberport, in Pok Fu Lam. Our whippet arrives from Sydney next week, and we have just moved into the Bel Air residences, specifically because it is right next to the park. I was going to leave him in Sydney until I discovered the park at Cyberport. Definitely worth checking out.

Hi Tomandandre
How have you found living in Pok Fu Lam?
I think we are bringing our greyhound (rescued) over, while she's a couch potato she still would like a grassy area. But is PFL a good place to live?

we are also in bel air and the park there is great for dogs - we have a rescue puppy. he gets lots of space to run, and also socialises with lots of other dogs - would recommend it.

If you're looking for an awesome grassy area for dogs to socialise, run around and have fun, you must check out 'Penfold Park' in Shatin, it's inside the racecourse. Remember to go only on non-race days. Otherwise it's shut. Dogs love it there and the grass is nicer compared to cyber port!!
It's a bit difficult to travel there so we usually call a cab or use the 'GOGOVAN' app, super easy.
