Considering move from Discovery Bay to get bigger living space that we can afford. Any parents in Mui Wo who can tell me what living there is like for young kids? (Our daughter is currently 16 months old.) Any playgroups or organised activities? What is the swimming pool like?

We too were planning on moving to Tong Fuk for the same reasons you mentioned but are worried about it as we too found our child would not have much activities there ( she is 2 yrs old). Today, I met a friend who informed me that Pui O ( Somewhere before Mui wo) has a few places for kids, like pay area, beach area for kids specifically, etc. I have to say, we have not checked it out yet, but only just heard about this today. I did see something like a playschool around at the Mui Wo ferry pier too. Ask the estate agents about that. All the best! :)

We are moving to Tong Fuk at the end of May and we have a two year old also. I have a friend who lives in the area already with her two year old and she stays quite busy with playgroups and preschool classes. There are lots of families in the area of S. Lantau. There is an international school with a playgroup for toddlers, and also a kindy in Mui Wo where you can bring your toddler. There is still a ferry or two back to DB each day if you wanted to keep doing a class or group back there. And there is always the option of coming into the city now and again. Lots of options. When are you all moving?

I am gathering that further south than MW is more popular with families, and has a better selection of properties for sale. But we're very reluctant to increase our commute time to Central significantly, so want to be able to reach the MW ferry pier on foot. No plans to move yet; just having a look.
