candy,

I put my 6-year-old son into ESF summer sports camp from July 24 to Aug.11, but my problem is that his holiday begins next week,:-( his school offers summer camp too, while too expensive and not long enough(9am-12am), my son comes back home too early, no fun for him. what about you?

Community Service Summer Programme, 2010

THAILAND

June 21 – 26 (6 days)

July 5 – 10 (6 days)

Programme Description

Accompanied by the two Hong Kong-based international-school teachers experienced in organizing and leading overseas trips, students will travel to and from Chiang Rai, in Northern Thailand. This will happen via Bangkok, on Thai Airways. Upon landing in Chiang Rai, the group will be met by staff from the Maekok River Village Resort, which is owned and operated by two former teachers from Britain.

This eco-resort will serve as our home for the next five nights, and its well-trained staff will oversee our community service project. They will also run our teambuilding exercises. These activities are very important, as they encourage the development of bonds necessary to maximize the rewards gained through the service work that will follow.

Participants

Up to 20 students, aged 14 -18, from various

schools, will be brought together to complete

a meaningful community service project

Cost: $11,300 HKD/ student

Includes return airfare, all meals

& accommodation within Thailand,

all travel within Thailand, travel

insurance, curriculum materials,

a donation to the service project,

facilitation and coordination by

qualified and experienced staff

Company Information

Educational Excursions Limited aims to provide youth with rewarding educational opportunities, which revolve around community service work. This may see students helping to build a school library in Thailand, or a village bridge in Laos.

All such activities are planned with the community service components of various curricula in mind. Programme Leaders plan and coordinate all aspects of Educational Excursions’ programmes. They also travel with participants and are available to them the entire time that they are away.
