Hi! My little boy is 22mnths and is going to a trial class at Bright Sparks next week. I was wondering if anyone had been already and had some feedback to share. I hear it's a pretty new centre.

My friend takes her 20 month old daughter to Bright Sparks and says she loves it. It is run by 2 British ladies and she says it has a very relaxed and happy atmosphere - I know they do lots of singing because I've heard the songs on several occasions when I've been out with my friend!!!! Well worth a try I would say.

A friend of mine takes her son there and he loves it. I also heard that you can go for a free trial, so I might take my 18 month old for a freebie! She said the women there are really friendly and do some great fun stuff with the kids.

Bright Sparks is on the corner of Ventris and Broadwood across from the church.I had a look around before I booked my trial and it's nicely laid out and yes, the ladies who run it seem very friendly!!. I'll let you know what the playgroup programme is like once we've been.

Thought I'd follow up after my Bright Sparks trial. It is a play oriented group, but they do use monthly themes to stimulate the kids interest and development. The craft activites are lovely and very age appropriate, the staff are experienced and enthusiastic and they offer some really interesting circle time activites..AND the songs they use are infectious!! (Can you tell I signed up!) I have gone to the Methodist too and it is a great price, is a really big space and has lots of equipment, but it is purely play. Great for chatting to other Mums.

Have you tried the Happy Valley Woodland school? That's meant to be great.

its OK , i wouldnt say 'great'. I would like to know of any GREAT playgroups in Happy Valley. Bright Sparks sounds good , but when i looked it had too many windowless dark rooms , maybe they have more space at the back or something.
