Hi. We are moving to HK in October. I am Hungarian and my husband is Canadian. We have a 2 year old boy. We have lived in the US and HK (without a child) and now we are moving from Switzerland. I would be interested in suggestions for playgroups and other child activities. We loved HK when we lived there in 2003 but we were both working so we viewed HK from a different angle. Now, I am a full time mom but before I was working in banking. We will be living in the Repulse Bay area. I would be also interested in making contacts with other moms in the area. Thanks for your help. Karola

There are several playgroups in Hong Kong but you would have to travel a bit. One is at YMCA and is on Mondays and Thursdays 10.15 - 12.15. The other (with a carpark) is at the USRC, 1 Gascoigne Road, Jordan on Tuesdays and Fridays 9.30 - 11.30 and it also has an outdoor area.

There is a great playgroup in Stanley (close to Repulse Bay) It is in the grounds of a church. I don't know the name but I'm sure someone else reading this can help you.

thanks for everybody`s help. my husband visited both woodlands and the southside kindergarden in repulse bay a week ago. he liked them all but you know how men are... i have to visit them as well but it seems to be a very good option for us since it is right where we live. in the long run I was told to try out southside kindergarden. any experience/feedback on southside kindergarden? thanks.

Woodlands at Repulse Bay is great. My daughter, aged 2 1/2 really enjoys herself on the days she attends school. I find Woodlands much more diverse than Southside which definitely had a British feel. The day that we visited, we were handed a registration form and told that they were out of pamphlets!

We also live in RB and would be happy to meet up once you arrive. There is lots for kids to do here, both close to RB and farther away. We find new things every day.
