I've been looking for an English teaching job in Hong Kong recently, but, everywhere I've had an interview, I keep on getting the same response, 'You need to get your TESOL qualification'. I've been online and I've seen so many adverts, I don't know what to do or where to go?
Does anyone know a good place near to Hong Kong where I can get qualified without breaking the bank?

What places have you applied to teach and also where ae you from before any advice can be given.

I did my TESOL Training at TEFL International Cebu last year in the Philippines.
It was a 4 week intensive course with six teaching practices and it gave me the basics and confidence to start a teaching career in Hong Kong.
Also, one of the big advantages of doing your TESOL in Cebu is the cost of living with it being so cheap compared to Hong Kong. I saved a fortune and had a great time exploring Cebu during the weekends and after the course had finished.
If you want to know more, just drop me a line and I'll be happy to share my experiences.

The two main TESOL certificate quallifications are the Cambridge CELTA (Adults) or CELTYL (Young Learners) and the Trinity TESOL.
The former is run by the British Council, and the Trinity info can be got from www.trinityforasia.com/en/trinity (Saw latter in local free newspaper.)
Both courses run four weeks and cost HKD25k. Not a bad investment if you already have a degree in something else and want to get into teaching.

I checked with the British Council and they do not offer the CELTA course here in Hong Kong anymore.
Also, the cost of doing the Trinity TESOL here in HK is pretty expensive compared to other places in Asia I have researched this week.
I contacted Language Key (www.languagekey.com/tefl_training_services.htm)after they posted a reply to my original message. They can secure me a place on a TESOL training course at TEFL International Cebu for US$1490 which is half the price of the TESOL course here in HK, so, I've decided to go with that option as I can save myself a fortune.
Also, the guy who sells the places on the course attended the training course last year, so, it was good to get a lowdown on the place before I secured my place on the course.
So, I'm off on my working holiday next month:-)
