Hi everyone,
I am a University qualified English tutor currently doing my Masters degree in TESOL. I have been looking at different options of teaching at various different language schools but ultimately this is not where my heart lies. I want to work with children in their home environment once or twice a week for a morning to help them learn English in their familiar environment. My ideal position is working with preschool children on Hong Kong island. I have 8 years experience and have worked in Europe, Asia, Africa and Australia. I try to incorporate a fair bit of Montessori ideas and my style is creative, fun, energetic and conversation-based. I have taught at an International School and have run many different expat playgroups.
Does anyone out there know of a company or institute I can contact to get connected with families who will be interested in one-on-one custom made tutoring for little ones ?
I look forward to hearing from you.
Thanks in advance for your help !

The best place to find work in this field would be to post an ad here http://hongkong.asiaxpat.com/directory/education-culture-religion/

Hi Blondi,
I suggest you contact the nursery and primary schools near you and ask if you might be put on a tutor list in case parents ask for someone. Perhaps the principal would be able to give your cards to teachers so they can pass on to the parents of students who are not speaking English as well as they might.Good luck.

Hi notyou,
Thanks, that is an excellent idea. For now I have managed to find a contract with a tutoring company but I think when my contract ends I might advertise on here and as you suggested at the preschools and primary schools in my area. Great idea - thanks for that !
