My son is now 2.5 yrs old. He's half chinese and half british. We live in Tin Hau. We would like to start him out in Montessori first and then move him later to a local school so he could learn mandarin. I have no idea which local school to send him too. I'm afraid to send him to a very local one where he will just get lost. I have heard that some of these locals schools are strict or the teacher:child ratio is terrible. Can anyone give me some feedback on Chekiang Kiangsu, Ling An (I think that's the spelling) or any other one on HK island? I looked into Victoria but it looks like I'm already too late for enrollment.

Hi Penne,
Don't have any personal experience to relate to you, but I have colleagues who use Chekiang Kiangsu and I haven't heard any negative comments about it. If you search the threads, I'm sure I've seen threads about this school as well. The only negative comment my colleague told me was that the school itself and the facilities are getting old but apart from that, everything else was great.
I would also persist with Victoria as well because they have about 2 or 3 campuses near you that have the international curriculum, (3 languages, Eng/Mand/Canto). You should hurry and call and check when the interviews take place for K1. Enrollment may have passed but maybe they can still let you in...
