I may be transferred to HK late summer 2010. I have tried to research on K1/preschool, but have only seen that people have the same questions I have - not too many answers have been provided! Surely someone else has been in this situation - my son will be 3 in July and would start preschool if we were to remain in the States. I believe K1 is the equivalent in HK. A few questions:
1) It seems the ESF and International schools have a lengthy application process and long waiting lists. Is it already too late to apply for fall 2010? If so, what is the alternative as I really would like him to attend K1.
2) Any recommendation for K1 schools that have Mandarin in their curriculum?
3) Are their certain areas/places to live that have a larger concentration of the ESF/International schools? Both parents will be working in Central, so we don't want to live far away. If we are able to only get him in a school that is far away from our work/living, how do the kids get there with both parents working?
Thanks in advance

try Woodlands pre-schools. they are all over hong kong and are good feeders for ESF primaries.
they also have a school bus service.
