Hi,
I'm looking for a Mandarin playgroup for my daughter (native English speaker) near Clearwater Bay (Hang Hau, TKO, Po Lam etc.)
She's just turned two years old and I DON'T want her sitting around looking at flash cards or whatever - just having fun in a (dis)organised way with other kids. The aim isn't to let her converse with Hu Jintao but to pick up the language by having fun.
Any ideas would be most welcome.

Hi,
I was just starting to look into this for my daughter as well (18mths). I came across a company that will do a playgroup where and when we want. www.florenda.com
I emailed them and their prices for an hour playgroup were $400 for the first child and $80 for every other child. So if we managed to get a group of us together we could get our costs down.
Not sure what they are like but may be worth a go.
Also sent you a pm.

A playgroup in Sai Keng Village on the Sai Sha Road is starting a Mandarin Playgroup, being taught by a Native Manderin teacher, the classes are from 1pm to 3pm daily. They have an English playgroup that is taught through play and the Mandarin classes will be the same. Have a look at their web site at www.eek.com.hk or call Angela on 6114 4219 for details.
