Want to practice English Conversation

My son is 14 years old and studies in HK traditional Secondary School. His oral English is poor and need more practice. He has joined those Engllish learning classes but seems no use at all. Do you think I should take a Chinese English-speaker tutor for him? However, I can only afford to pay a low tutorial fee. Could anyone give me some advices? Thanks

I have only helped teach young children (1 to 5 years) but, as a kid that grew up in foreign countries in my early childhood (6 to 13) I can say interest and desire are important for your son.

Figure out what he is interested in, and if he wants to, otherwise you might be wasting your effort, and money.

My brother in law is tutoring kids in HK local schools specializing in Conversation.

He recently moved back from Canada. His lessons are motivating, fun, and use variety of methods to get any child to speak during the lesson.

He also teaches Tennis.

if you are interested, pm me. He charges reasonably.

Hi Katetam,

I am interested to know more details such as his charge, his time available, etc. Will he take lessons in kids' house? Will he be convenient to have lessons on Saturdays / Sundays? We are living at Mid-levels? Thanks

I dunno what happened to MY earlier post, but it must have been here, for me to be "alerted" there was a new post! Anyway, I pointed out that I have more than 25 years experience, live in Central, and I do teach in the student's own home, if required. I have both a degree and a Cert. TESOL.

If you'd care to PM me with your email/phone number, I can send you full details, along with many recommendations.

I don't teach tennis.

Please note - we'd rather not have tutors advertise on forums... they should post in the A-Z Directory under Tutors...

People using the forums are looking for recommendations from other members...
