Hi all. I just wanted to ask for a bit of advice about a particular career path or part time position I've been considering.
For the past few years I've been a private teacher. Over the years I found myself giving plenty of advice to their helpers on how to teach the kids when the parents aren't around and have been praised. I have a great deal of concern for children who spend more time with their caregivers than their parents. Sometimes the helpers don't really know what they're doing in terms of the children's well being.
So my question is do you think parents would pay extra to hire someone to personally train their helpers so they can take better care of their children?
Thank you :)

there are courses offered for exactly that purpose, including First Aid at the Mathilda Hospital ...

I dont think there's a need of that extra cost for the parents. There's a lot of courses in YWCA or YMCA that will help improve helper's skill. Passion and love to their work is a different matter. There's a lot of helper dont have that your lucky enough if you found one with that quality.

How about starting your own super nanny? I think that would work, since kids here are generally spoiled ;)

I would think there is a market for this, especially on the academic fronts. HK people like to spend a lot of money on academic related pursuits for their children. So if properly advertised, this might work. The capital requirement is low, so no harm trying.
You might try to advertise on sites such as ubuyibuy for discounted offers and see what works.

I definitely think there is a gap in the market for something less formal and less time consuming than very good service offered by the YMCA and full time training organisations. Micro training would suit most households, e.g. a one day course in basic kitchen hygiene, a one day course in child feeding and bathing etc.
However as knowledgeable as you may be some formal qualifications and liability insurance would be strongly advised to avoid complications in the future.
