Hi,

I have a few years experience teaching english playgroup. I also taught 3-4 year olds for a year "Learning through Play". I gained my experience through work. Now I would like to look into getting a degree/diploma that will enable me to find a job with more established/international schools like Woodlands etc. I much prefer to teach young children. What program should I apply for? My aim is to get a good teaching job as I have a young daughter to care for. What about Montessori?

For Montessori you could try

http://www.mmi-hongkong.com/tt_index.html

Or if you already have a degree you could look into doing a PGDE in Early Childhood from HKU or HKIEd.

PGDE allows you to teach in primary or secondary schools, most universities in HK have it. For kindergartens, you need to get an Early Childhood cert.

If you want to teach in Woodland, you need to do a program with Montessori.

I don't have a degree and I most likely won't do one. I'm looking to do a short course as I work. How difficult is it to find a job if you don't have a degree? Am I best to do an Early Childhood cert or do the Montessori program? Thank you for your help. I'm clueless!
