we will be moving to hkg with our 3 kids in December 2011 and are trying to find places for our kids. We've been told there are waitlists at almost all international schools. Our kids will be 7 and 5 and 4, english speakers (only). Any suggestions on where to push for, or where they'll likely get in?

Yes, it is true that there are wait-lists at almost all international schools. The chances of your children getting in would depend on how your children perform in the interviews and if you fall into any priority categories. Say for example, if you are a debenture holder, or of a specific nationality (e.g. French got priority applying to FIS, German, Swiss and Austrians got priority applying to GSIS, etc)
About what school to choose, I guess you have to tell where you're going to live in first! It wouldn't be sensible to send your children to school far across the harbour every day I guess! What curriculum are you looking into? What kind of schools (big/small, with/without country background, etc) are you looking for?
