With regards to schooling, can anyone give me a breakdown of the differences between different schooling standards and if any are better than others. ie is IB better than UK standards/Australian schooling standards.

Are there any problems with the IB standard if we were to relocate and our child has not finished school or for entrance to University?

UK standards are dreadful. I'm putting my kids through the local HK system.

We speak very minimal Cantonese. Would this be a problem, I am guessing kids will pick it up very quickly at school, but would we have to learn as well in order to help with home work etc?

In what regard is the UK system dreadful/different to the HK system? As parents we want our children to have the best education. Im from NZ, the public system there is also terrible.

Standards for international schools are better than NZ, me husband worked in recruitment in HK and the NZ NCEA is not very well recieved.

We are taking our kids through the international school system here in HK. I am thinking you are a kiwi you could try ESF with the IB and then when you go back to NZ put them through Diosien that also does IB. Or we are doing Harrow (Cambridge) and if we ever move back to NZ will send our kids to Strathallen in Karaka also Cambridge. Any thing is better than NCEA.
