Mandarin for munchikin vs Kids land

ORIGINAL POST

Hi, I have a 22month old boy.

I'm looking for a mandarin playgroup or class for him. We don't speak Mandarin but want to give him an early exposure to Mandarin.

Would anyone share their experience with Mandarin for munchikin or Kidsland?

Thanks.

Hi Weon7, I am sorry if my reply is not exactly the thing you want to hear, but I have seen many cases that parents are disappointed with their children's learning results after spending lots of money on these Chinese lessons.

All these playgroups are more or less about the same. For pre-school kids, if none of the caregiver is involved in the learning, if the child doesn't have fun at home with the learning (he/she needs to get at least 30 minutes of exposure every day), just attending the lessons, usually don't produce good results. Language learning is a very time consume business.

Maybe you want to try out first by getting song DVDs/CDs and sing at home with your baby EVERY DAY. They are some DVDs and CDs are for English speakers.

For those need more info about Chinese learning, please email mrsyuhk@sina.com
