I am a NET who has been teaching in HK for many years. I also have had many private students. I am always tempted to try and branch out to start my own tutorial center here in Tokwawan or San Po Kong. The challenge is keeping work going while building up a new business.
Has anyone tried this or have any advice?
Thanks very much. I have quite a number of private students and so was just hoping to find an external location, rather than in my home. So instead of running an official centre just wanted to use space to teach the students I have find a few more as already busy teaching in local school. Thanks a lot for your feedback.

Technically, running a business from your home is not legal - it's just that you're unlikely to be rumbled. If you're planning to do so in a commercial space, you must legalise it with the proper insurance, tax filings, BR, etc.

Hi Cara, I have friends who used to open educational centers yet two of them closed down. It is a business that demands you so much time and effort YET it might not be rewarding. the end result is, you may lose money, you may be so psychologically tired and torn YET it is not rewarded. Unless you have a satisfactory number of students, or so called the data base, I personally think this is a night mare.
