Hi, we will be moving to HK next year, and out son shall be Year 8 by that time in British system.
He studies in ESF primary for 5 years before leaving HK.
What would be the chance for him to be offered a seat in ESF Secondary? I know he has some priority as former ESF studnet but at the same time, waitiing list has doubled over three years.
I know waiting tend to be always very long for lower primary, but what about Secondary? I am worried that turn around is lower instead of shorter waiting list for Secondary.
Please advise.

If you are looking for a place for Sept 2015, I'd say you have a good chance. If earlier, less of a chance.
Your son will need to sit for a written test and does earn priority as a prior student.
I don't find much value in trying to analyse waitlists and probability of being offered a space as I've seen too many improbable things happen. My best advice is: just apply. Good luck!
