Hello,
We plan to relocate to Hong Kong at the end of this year and got accepted to Harbour School for my six year old daughter.
All the other schools that we applied either have no place for this year or do not take new students until a new academic year, the summer of 2013.
Does anybody have children at Harbour School? Or did anybody go there at one point? Could you please share your experience and insight? I would like to know more about the school.
Thank you.

Hi Vuitton
Firstly, THS is gaining reputation and the principal there is very impressive. On the downside, they are housed in a commercial building and use the public sports facilities across the street. This may change very soon, though.
On the other hand, it is not exactly true to say that schools won't accept children mid-term. They do; it's just that they won't know if they have space yet.
I encourage parents to apply and see - you can consider a bunch of other schools (including ESF). Of course, if you're fixed on living on HK Island, your choices are more limited but I would encourage you to check out Island Christian Academy which is a brand new school in Central. They reserve some space for overseas assignees and their fees are a lot lower than THS.
Hope that helps. Feel free to PM me for more details.

hkwaffle,
Thank you for your insight and sharing your knowledge on schools. I will look into ICA. I applied for other schools as well including ESF. With a new nomination policy, it may be a challenge to get into ESF going forward....
In any case, thank you for your time!

You should definitely investigate the space before making a decision. It's an office building, with adult toilets.

It may be very likely that The Harbour School will move into a purpose built campus this or next September.

I was talking with a parent whose son goes to Harbour School and he told me that the school were in talks with the government to move into a vacated facility in Stanley. Not sure how accurate that info is, or if that's confirmed yet, though.
