My son was joined a unwell-known Christain International School recently, he was studied in a local Elite School. His new teacher was a non-westerner, she was super perfect-minded, I gradually quit the school for my son as I really don't know how can my son study in that school without proper teach and help. They required my son perform exactly like his peers. Is there anyone have the same experience? My son is Grade 3 already, he really enjoys study in International School, unfortunately, his teacher is so mean to him! Do you have any idea any school's teacher is more patient and understanding new joiners?

I think it depends largely on the teacher and also what their school philosophies are. Perhaps there are open houses or parent/teacher meeting where you can ask questions specifically about your concerns before you enrol your son? Parent interview is not just about school accepting you, it's also you accepting the school as well.

Why not let him have some one-to-one lessons, to give him confidence, as that, for sure is what he needs. Then he will not feel so "embattled", and can stand up for himself.
I am sure my husband, a tutor, from England, can help him a lot. If you'd care to send me your email address, I will make sure he sees it, and sends you details of his tuition.

My son left that SHIT school already, I dont' like their teachers and Principal. Too bad.
He joined another Bilingual school now, he is happy and more confident, all the problem was gone, the Principal told me that he love to talk and share his opinion with her and his class teacher. They also have enough native teacher in school, some of his classmates are also westerner, they speak very good Mandarin and English too.
But the scar in his heart still there, difficult to remove!
