There are a couple of schools in HK has anyone any feedback on Renaissance School? My kids are 15 and we wanted to bring them back from boarding but have been told by ESF that they wont accept them mid way thru a year which means they will have to wait till Sept 07 and join IB or A levels. Did anyone face a similar problem?

We don't face this problem - just moved here in August from the USA and had the children enrolled in Renaissance College - year 5 and year 7. So far we like the school but it is a huge adjustment from the US for the Year 7 girl. The school is still getting it's ducks in a row since it is just opened, but so far we are pleased.

ESF normally take students midway through the year, but it sounds like your kids would be joining midway through year 11, which is the middle of the GCSE year. And unless they are already doing the exact same GCSE's that they would do here it would be almost impossible to switch.

Hi all,
I'm finding an A levels tutor for Economics and Geography. Please message me if you know anyone!
Thanks,
Phebe

I guess the objection is that they will be joining a two year course so it is important that they attend the full 2 years and do the hours specified by the IB.
Have you tried KCCIS in North Point?
Please support our advertisers:
KCIS in North Point is not an IB school; it follows the British National Curriculum.
ESF will have strict rules on this, as you point out, the IBDP is a two year course and the schools are very careful to keep their scores up.
What others are you considering?

KCCIS does do IB Diploma for Y12 and Y13 students.
It has small classes and good results.
