Can anyone offer any advice about their experience with the Norwegian International School in Tai Po?

There are two separate campuses - one for Kindergarten and one for Primary.

Any info appreciated about how hard it is to get in, is it a competitive school, what are the teachers like, whats the work load for the kids etc??

Thanks in advance

My kids went to NIS for 4 years and it was a great experience for them. Class sizes are small, the teachers are professional, energetic and kind. They get quite close to the kids as the classes are small and can offer individual attention. They're good at working with parents if your child has any special needs (excelling or falling behind in areas). I did find the work load for my daughter to be excessive. I did finally speak with the teacher about it and had it reduced as it was creating far too much tension between my daughter. Not sure how hard it is to get in - likely depends more on your child's behavior than on academic achievement, although they do take entry tests. Competitive - it's a very alternative school for Hong Kong and if you are looking for cutting edge environments, then NIS isn't for you most likely. It's cutting edge in the fact that the environment is natural and it's non-institutional. Best of luck!
