Hi all,
I'm looking for a structured course or series of classes that help with portfolio building in Art.
I have studied art previously and am very creative, but was unable to study the subject further in my final years of high school, and am thus lacking the basics in some areas i.e. figure drawing, painting, print making etc.
I'm taking a gap year after I graduate, and during that time I want to build a portfolio that I can apply with to good art universities, i.e. SCAD Hong Kong.
Any links or contacts would be greatly appreciated! Thank you very much in advance :)
Additional info: I'm a student graduating from an ESF High School this year. I only speak English. I'm on a budget.

Hi Carsxcollide,
My name is Mona and I am a full-time practising artist based in HK.
I came across your post because I have been looking to start a course in art portfolio coaching (exactly what you are looking for) in Hong Kong. I wasn't sure if there was a need for it. I am also in conversation with the English Speaking Members Department at the YWCA about setting up a similar course.
However, let's talk about you. Firstly, have you found anyone, or has anyone responded to your request?
You mentioned that you are taking a gap year. Will that be this year?
I don't know if you will find a structured course that will provide what you want, unless you apply for an art foundation course where you will learn all the basics. Failing that, I can help you, but we will need to sit down and chat, because I plan to work with you on a one to one basis, if you want to have the art portfolio that's going get you into a good art school. I'll do my best for you with the budget that you have.
You can view my work and more about me on my website: www.monachoocreates.com.
Drop me an email if you haven't already found someone to help you. I can also send you a description of what my programme looks like, so you get an idea of the structure and how it will be tailored to fit your requirements.
Kind regards,
Mona
