I had the same problem when I was learning Japanese (or any other languages ... get stuck and frustrated, and then give up!). The difference is that you have 7 million cantonese speaking people around you! Like Cara said, you just grab every chance to speak cantonese. You will be amazed how you are appreciated by the locals when you speak even just a few words in Cantonese. Good luck!
