Supply Teaching Pay?

ORIGINAL POST

Can anyone tell me if what I heard is true, which is that Supply/Substitute teachers for HKIS earn around $1200/day, Canadian IS also $1200 and ESF around $1500? Any other info would help me decide where to apply! Thanks!

I've got no idea, but you might check out this site:

www.payscale.com

I've used them before, and got some guidlines regarding salaries in different countries.

Yes that sounds about right.....but you are better off to ring and ask each organisation to be sure. There is a high demand for good supply teachers.

Great! Thanks. I think Supply Teaching will be great for someone like me who has children at home!

Thanks so much. I agree and I did think the pay is low, especially considering the cost of living in HK. I have been hired by ESF, but haven't gotten my teacher registration yet. I have to go and ask the schools to sign saying I can work for them and then get my teacher registration. It'd actually be easier for me to work for either CdnIS and Kellett in terms of my experience and location. Do you think I can work for more than one and see which one suits me?
