Hi,
We are moving to HK next Summer. Our son was accepted to 9th grade at CNDIS. We loved the facilities, the warm welcome and the fact that they offer an IB program. But we are concerned that the High School population is mainly chinese and wonder if our son would have problems adjusting. We are still waiting for news from HKIS, which people say is more international, (but does not have the IB, only APs). Does anyone out there have friends with high schoolers at CNDIS?

Thank you, Green-Catalonia.
Anyone else out there who could share their views about High School at CNDIS?

I am less familiar with the high school than the primary section, however there is very likely to be a dominance of students with Chinese origin, as many locals here are also dual passport holders with Canada. Many of these may actually have English as their first language too.
I'm sure the standard of English is still excellent and I'm pretty sure your son will adjust perfectly well to any HS in HK if he is a well-rounded, open-minded individual.

as my wife works there, I've visited on school functions and spoken to many high schoolers casually...as CF says, many (most) of the Chinese students have native-English ability...it's quite a multicultural school (just like Canada is as a country) so I wouldn't worry about 'fitting in' or adjusting...it's nothing like a local Chinese high school...
