CELTA qualified... what now?

Hi everyone!

I've just arrived from Lancaster, UK, having gained a CELTA qualification after my degree in Linguistics.

I'd love to get work teaching adults, but older kids would also be fine.

Could anyone advise me where to start, or maybe share some experiences?

Also, many of the adverts I'm responding to seem to suggest I tell them my "expected salary". What on earth do I put there?

Thanks in advance. :)

apply for the EDB Net Scheme and watch the cash roll in!

The NET scheme would be one avenue, but not teaching adults. If you have a dependent visa you could pick up work easily in any number of the smaller language schools. If you don't have a working visa or PR status, this will be more difficult.

If your degree is at Master's level, you can apply to work in an English language support centre in university and teach undergraduates.

Expected salary - ballpark for small centers $25-30k/month; universities $35-45/month.

Gpod luck.
