My son got offer from both kindergartens for the K1, ESF being the afternoon session, while YMCA is in the morning. My elder son went to YMCA and we all like it a lot. We are not so familiar with ESF TY. Which one shall I choose for my son in terms of teachers' qualification, language development and the overall growth? Million Thanks!

Hi Joanneinnyc
It largely depends on what you're aiming for for primary.
If you are keen on ESF primary, this is the last year where kindergarten students get priority admission. This is a major consideration, I'd say.
YMCA is more diverse and caters for a lot of non-native English speakers. Most graduate onto a range of "second and third tier" int'l and private schools.
One more option - you could consider doing both to start with and see how it goes.
Hope this helps! Ruth

Thanks a lot for your reply! Yes, we are not native speaker, so I really want my son to speak better English as fluent as native so when he applies for other international school, he could pass the interview and secure a spot. I know the top one becomes more and more competitive... If my plan is not for ESF, but for other top International schools, which kindergarten can prepare my kids better for the interview? which graduates can go to top international school more easily?

Do you mean the YMCA Kindy TST? It is just as diverse as ESF Kindy in Tsing Yi. That is my experience anyway. Many of the people who applied to YMCA Kindy also applied to ESF Kindy in Tsing Yi. Many apply to and get accepted into ESF Primary and other schools of their choice too like Japanese Int'l, Australian Int'l so not sure if this is what is meant by 2nd or 3rd tier. Both are similar in terms of style, focus on English, play-based so not sure there is much benefit in doing both at the same time.
