Hi, I got a Diploma in Teaching from ABRSM and is certified as an instrumental teacher by ABRSM with 20 years of teaching experience. I agree with JUST THINK ABOUT IT that passing a grade exam doesn't mean that one is being qualified, and most music teachers do not really know how to teach. Anyway, I teach only part-time and is currently not available for teaching more students, but I know a few other qualified teachers. Write me at 'betty@alumni.utexas.net' if you need a referral.

I am a music teacher myself and i send my kids there for group lessons (she has 3-5 year old group classes). Her classes are well structured, encompassing rhythm, music appreciation and singing, on top of piano playing.

To find a piano teacher in Hong Kong you need to go to Facebook where there are two groups that register Hong Kong piano teachers, the Hong Kong Piano Teachers Association and Hong Kong Piano Teachers Circle.

Good piano teachers will be well qualified and you could ask if they have completed the CTABRSM, a professional development course run by the UK examining board ABRSM.

The best piano teachers take their own professional development seriously and will probably be members of e-musicmaestro, a UK website that shows piano teachers the best way to interpret and teach the pieces on the current examination syllabus. You will probably find that Hong Kong teachers who use it tend to follow best practice, since they have access to current music teaching and learning theory.

I'm looking for a teacher that can teach both piano and singing at the same time and who can teach either at my place or somewhere on Lantau Island.

The student is 14 years old and is Grade 2 in Piano, has no singing experience but would like to learn basic vocal. Classes minimum 45 minutes long and no longer than one hour. reasonable price. Please contact me or reply! Thank you.

It is for 3.5-5 year old beginners.

hi i am looking for a western teacher that teaches piano and come to my house in tai wai...,my child is 11yrs old and only passed grade 1...but now not looking for her to do exams but to learn piano in a fun n enjoyable way...she has potential but the teachers have been changing on her from parsons so often that she is startin to lose interest....i need cheap n fun....we only have a keyboard at home but it is ok for her to learn on the keyboard..

Hi Bianca, I have completed my Grade 8 AMEB piano exam and the Grade 5 AMEB music theory exam. I am currently preparing for my ABRSM music performance diploma. I am also a native English speaker.

For kids and for beginners, I focus on practical learning - rhythm, note reading and recognition of music symbols. Above all, I aim to create a fun and enjoyable learning environment to instil confidence and a love for music in my students.
