We are relocating to Hong Kong from the UK and looking for a school for our two kids, aged 6 and 8. My husband and I both really loved the Harbour School when we looked around it and think it would be a really good fit for our kids, but I'm worried that because it follows the US curriculum they will have trouble going back to the UK system, as we will only be in Hong Kong for two years. Does the school have many English families and what happens when they go back home?

Our son is at The Harbour School (G6) and I'm really pleased to hear that you like the school! I wouldn't worry (we are here longer term but will also eventually be returning to UK schools/university as my husband and children are British) as I think the school brings out the best in children. The inclusive and welcoming environment (something my son often mentions), the individualised learning combined with hands-on//practical skills and energetic and inspiring teachers just work really well. I recently attended a presentation at the school, mostly geared towards secondary school, but it was quite clear that the US and UK systems are easily compatible. Please write again if you would like some more feedback on the school. Good luck with your decision.
