I am looking for international boarding school abroad for my daughter.
Does anybody know someone who has or have you yourself sent their children to a boarding school abroad? How did they/you go about finding and choosing a school?
Any tips or anything in particular you think I need to take into consideration when choosing a boarding school?
Greatful for any input.

We have just been through this process so can offer a little advice. We found it was quicker and more effective to use and agent - ended up using Academic Asia who were very good.
There is a broad range of schools to choose from with the most popular destinations being Australia, NZ, USA and UK. It depends on your own personal preference and family connections where you decide.
We focused on the UK and found different types of schools, academic, sport, traditional (well established and trading on their history/reputation), boys, girls, co-ed, day schools accepting small number of boarders, and sausage factories (large schools seemingly more interested in profit than education).
The best way to sift through this is to be clear on the type of education you want for your daughter, speak to other parents with kids overseas on their experience, and talk to an agent. Also there are some fantastic forums and websites out there with parents discussing everything you can think of with regard boarding schools.

Thank you for taking the time and share some info on this!!! It really is a jungle out there.
Could you maybe help me with what some of the forums would be? I know you are not allowed to mention other competing forums on here. Could you maybe whatsapp me on 59440191?
Thanks!

My friend sent his daughter to UK boarding school last year, and her daughter is very happy there now. She has studying one of the top ranking boarding school located in Cambridgeshire, UK. The school would offer EFL lessons every week, extra tutorial after school or in the weekends and great support to all the boarders. She would also join school trips to France or Holland. My friend has suggested me to find the agent and the company called ELY International Education Services Ltd. She said the agents are great and they give you good advice.

I went through the same process deciding if to send my daughter away, that was a big step and the next was to decide on the school and if it was a good fit for my child and last was with a school list what we had to do to get her in. We found that the top or the more traditional schools were tough as and required an academic advisor/coach to navigate the way to prepare for all the entrance exams and interviews. AA is good but do your research on the schools and in terms of extra coaching/ interview preparation for the school entrance exams we used aegis advisors.
Good luck with the search!
