The ESF in ther wisdom have adopted the 2 year IB course with no other credible alternative. Fail and there are no resits. Fine for high flying kids who can cope with 6 subjects and tons & tons of homework. A high risk strategy for others. Also, I suspect, the required IB score is tougher than the straight A Level requirement for most courses I've looked at, making access to uni education in the UK that much tougher to get via the IB route. Ideally, there wil be a non-ESF option. Hopefully in local schools. Pls let me know.

Certainly the change over to IB at KGV was against at least 50% of the parents wants. Many more expat children that I know of are now leaving at the end of year 11, and going to 6 form college or similiar in their home countries. I think GSIS still do A levels but it is very expensive.

CD, even if you could afford GSIS you can't get in. So many parents of kids at ESF schools applied to transfer their kids there that their intake into Y11 was so oversubcribed, they closed waiting lists a while ago!

My daughter goes to English medium convent school which is one of the elite direct subsidy school and they run A levels.
