Hi,
My name is Nadjette. I am new in HK and would like to meet people around my age (36). I am also looking for playmates for my daughter Lili (6 month) near Causeway Bay or elsewhere, would be a good occasion to visit new places.
I couldn't find a playgroup in all the various forums I have searched (and I searched a lot !). They were either too far, or the babies were much older than my daughter or, more frequently, the posts were out of date.
So I have decided to create a yahoo group "Mums and Babes in Hong Kong" where mothers and children could find friends their age.
I propose to join and organize different meetings based on mum/babe (or older child) age, location, hobby (for example, I like sewing and knitting though I am starting and not really good at it...).
So if you are looking for a convenient place to meet other mums and babes, join in and introduce yourself :

Same here... just arrived, still having a jet lag... but know and feel the need to make friends and see other mums and babies and toddlers. Please let me know where are you meeting so we could join you. We are in a serviced apartment in Tsuen Wan but are likely to move somewhere CWB or Sai Kung area soon, it seems to have more of a social life out there... I've got a 3 y.o. boy and 11 mths girl. As a note, trying to join the group is a real nightmare (due to
yahoo...) as the moderator you can email invites to people who want to join if they PM you their email rather than joining through the link above - It's worth mentioning to anyone who joins that if they
scroll down the invite email there's a button at the bottom which means
you can join the group without having to get a yahoo ID....MUCH easier -
and you may find a few more people sign-up - honestly it's taken me
about 20 mins to navigate Yahoo to join!
Anyway....most M+B group here seem to be set up informally amongst mummies - there are a few drop in ones though like at the Matilda, The Annerly and St. Stephens....

We moved to HK from London nearly 4 weeks ago. Currently in a serviced apartment in causeway bay. We have found our flat to move to in Discovery Bay, we don't move there until May though and now my search for a home has finished I'm feeling a bit lost and not sure what to do with myself. I have a 2yr 10m old son and I'm 20w pregnant with the next. I think my son is getting really bored with my company now too! So it would be great to meet other mums and children.
