my mothers both are worn n torn and she needs a sergury according to a gov doctor in hk.
how much will that normally cost in gov hospital such as QE or UCH in hk?
she is over 65 now

Firstly, you need a referral letter from a doctor to go to see a specialist in the government hospital and after assessment and if an operation is necessary, they will set a date and time which could be in a couple of days, weeks or months away depending on the availability of space/personnel etc. etc.
As to cost, it is consider very cheap....if I remember correctly, admission about $100 and room charge, medicine, meals etc. in the big ward is around $60-80 per day.

When answering, I assumed that OP's mother is holding the HKID. In that case, I am sure she has to pay much much more.
OP, you can ask the doctor who is attending to your mother - he/she has sufficient information to approximately the cost. Good luck.
