Hello, this forum is great to give me some insight views.

I am new in HK. I am trying to find a part time dh. Three points of concerns: A) I never used any helper before. How do you trust them? Do you leave them alone in the house? Do you give the keys to DH?

B) I was told that I have to buy insurance for dh. Where shall I buy it? What happens if I want to change my DH?

C) Do you interview many before make a decision? Do you interview them at your house or somewhere else?

Thanks in advance for your advice and wisdom.

Keep in mind that in many cases it's illegal to hire part-time unless she is a permanent resident. Some DHs are willing to work part-time but they don't have such right, e.g. if a DH is employed as a full-time maid by somebody else.

A)Most of the people do trust THEIR DHs. I mean, when you employ her full-time and she lives in your house. Personally, I wouldn't trust a part-timer unless she comes from a reputable agency, e.g. Merry Maids advertised on this site.

B)No idea regarding part-times. Assuming she is legal of course. If she does part-time besides her contract with her employer you can not buy insurance for her.

C)Do as it suits your convenience. Some people even like to invite a helper for a trial cleaning etc..

Lastly, consider a full-time DH. If you have never had a helper before you'll be amased how much it changes your life-style: spending more quality time with family, not to mention if you yourself work. Good luck.
