Help - need advice on income proof for DH application

What is an acceptable proof of financial ability to employ a DH? My husband is not employed in HK (he is employed in another country) so we have no HK income proof.

Is there anything else we can submit instead for income proof? Will the HK govt accept a letter from the bank stating our average balance? And what is the average balance we need to have?

Thanks in advance for your advice. :)

A letter from his employer stating his income (even abroad) is fine.

Hi

If you can't produce a hong kong income tax statment, there are a couple of other things you can do. Get a letter from the employer as axptguy says(but it ought to be a company registered in HK) on the official letterhead that states the monthly income (must be at least $15000 per month) or you can produce a bank statement that shows a balance of at lesat $350,000 instead.

BTW, even if you are paid from abroad, you must file a HK income tax return, did you know that? If you have a visa to work in HK, then somebody must have submitted you paperwork to apply for the visa. This is probably the best one to give you the salary letter.

Good luck

Thanks for the replies - if we go the bank statement route, do we just produce one bank statement with the $350,000 ++ amount? And can we blank out some of the personal transactions, for privacy sake, and just show the total balance?

Thanks.

Yes, the bank statement is okay. Don't know about the actual transactions, just try and they will tell you if it is okay or not. IMD is interested in the balance really, to satisfy their requirements.
