Who pays for visa renewal if passport expires?

My helper has asked me to pay.


She needs a new visa because her passport expired.


I don't mind paying... just wondering.

By law the visa is the responsibility of the employer. The passport is the responsibility of the helper.

How much is the visa renewal, a couple of hundred bucks?? An amount, you would gladly pay for a couple of drinks. Get a life!! You can surely afford it more than your maid.

Gee phil...a bunch of presuppositions packaged in hostility...whassup with that? Besides just because one can afford more than others doesn't mean they are morally obligated to pay what is not their responsibility to pay.

i think the employer has to pay all costs of the visa, even if that means 2 in one contract

your helper need to go get a new passport first, on her own expense, but when she needs to go get the visa you have to pay for it.
